America shocks Pakistan in UN, Baloch fighters did not ban fighters

The US and France together have turned water to Pakistan’s plans. Pakistan had proposed to ban two organizations associated with Balochistan in the UN with the help of China, but England, France and the US together vetoed the proposal of China-Pakistan. Pakistan had proposed to declare Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and its military wing Majeed Brigade a global terrorist.

China also supported Pakistan’s proposal, but the US, England and France vetoed the proposal. The US rejected the proposal of China-Pakistan, saying that under which Pakistan had appealed to declare BLA and Majeed Brigade as global terrorists, it is not applicable.

BLA and Majeed Brigade declared foreign terrorist organization

Pakistan had proposed to declare a terrorist organization under section 1267 of the UN. In such a situation, the US made it clear that there is no such evidence, which shows that both these Baloch organizations are associated with Al Qaeda or ISIS. In fact, the US declared BLA and its Majeed Brigade as a foreign terrorist organization last month.

The US State Department had said in its statement that Majeed Brigade was a surname of the BLA’s previous particularly designated global terrorist (SDGT) designation. At that time, the US move was seen as a balance step, as the US had called the ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) of Lashkar, which carried out the Pahalgam attack, as a group associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.

America refused to ban Baloch organizations

But on technical grounds in the UN, the US flatly refused to ban Baloch organizations. Pakistan, currently as a temporary member for a tenure of 2025-26 in the Security Council of 15 countries and China is a permanent member. In such a situation, excited by that announcement of America, Pakistan and China wanted to declare BLA-Majeed Brigade a global terrorist organization, but their conspiracy failed.

In the United Nations, whenever India brings a proposal to declare Masood Azhar, the leader of Jaish -e -Mohammed as a global terrorist, China always stops him by veto. Even with Lashkar -e -Taiba terrorists Sajid Mir, Shahid Mahmood and Talha Saeed, China has shown sympathy in the UN. They were not banned under 1267 arrangements due to Chinese veto.

America-France-Britain’s trio veto

Similarly, now China’s efforts have also been thwarted, when the US-France-Britain trio has veto on the proposal of China-Pakistan. On the other hand, the Baloch Liberation Army has said that its fighters are not terrorists, but the protector of the motherland. According to the BLA, Baloch fighters and Majeed Brigade are not against world peace.

Baloch fighters made headlines all over the world by hijacking Pakistan’s Jaffer Express in the month of May this year. Apart from this, the Pakistani Army has been plagued by attacking the Pakistani army in Balochistan. The BLA claims that these attacks are being carried out against the repressive policies being carried out by the Pakistani Army in Balochistan.
