OK, Canada and Australia recognized Palestine, Israel said ‘Hamas reward’

The United Kingdom, Canada and Australia have formally recognized Palestine as a sovereign state. This is an important foreign policy change and a decision taken separately from the United States.
British Prime Minister Kir Starmer confirmed the decision by posting on his official X account. He said that amid growing stress in the Middle East, this step is necessary to maintain peace and the possibility of ‘two-state solution’, which means a safe Israel and a viable Palestinian kingdom. Starmer clarified that by recognizing Palestine, ‘Hamas will have no role in the future or government’.
The announcement came after a change in Britain’s policy in July, when it demanded a ceasefire with Israel.

Israel has criticized this belief and described it as a ‘reward’ for Hamas. US President Donald Trump also expressed his disagreement with Sir Kir Starmer on the issue during his recent visit. The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that this recognition is the direct result of the massacre of October 7 and ‘Do not let Jihadi ideology decide its policy.’
Shortly before the UK’s announcement, G7 became the first G7 nation to recognize Canada Palestine. Prime Minister Mark Carney hoped for ‘a peaceful future for both Palestine and Israel’.
Soon after, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanies also announced recognition to Palestine. He described it as a major international effort in the direction of ‘Do-Nation Samadhan’ with Britain and Canada. Albanies said that the effort should begin with the release of the immediate ceasefire and hostages in Gaza, and Hamas will have no role in Palestine’s future rule.
