‘America made fun of America, now money will return’, Donald Trump’s big statement when tariff is implemented on other countries including India
The counter -duty charges imposed by US President Donald Trump came into effect on Thursday. With this, Trump said that billions of dollars will now return to America from the countries which have been taking advantage of America for years and have been making fun of them.
Trump’s sharp statement: ‘Jokes, now money will return’
A few hours before the tariff was implemented, Trump wrote on Truth Social- “Billions of dollars, which will come from countries that have taken advantage of America for years and kept laughing, will now start coming to America. Only one can stop America’s greatness, which can stop the country’s failure, which wants the country’s failure.”
25% additional fee on India, now total tariffs 50%
On Wednesday, Trump announced to increase 25 percent of the 25 percent fee already existing on India. This fee has been levied to buy oil from Russia in India. With this, the total tariff on goods imported from India has now reached 50 percent.
India’s tough answer: ‘This step is inappropriate and unjust’
The Government of India termed the move as “unfair, inappropriate and incompatible”. The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) said in its official statement – “We have already clarified our stance on these issues, which includes the fact that our imports are market based and 1.4 billion people are done with the aim of ensuring energy security.” The Ministry of External Affairs further said – “It is extremely unfortunate that America has decided to impose additional fees on India, while many other countries are taking similar steps in view of their national interests.”
Modi’s blunt reply: ‘No compromise with the interest of farmers’
During an event in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi clearly said, “For us farmers, fishermen and dairy farmers are paramount. India will never compromise on their interests. I know that we will have to pay its price, but I am ready for it. India is ready for it.”
Trump’s answer: ‘Now see what happens’
When Trump was asked that India protested against his additional tariff policy and why only India has been punished for doing business with Russia, Trump said, “It has been only 8 hours now. Now see what happens. You are going to see a lot … You will see a lot of secondary centers.”
