A day after imposing 25 percent tariff on India, the United States President Donald Trump said that tariffs are making America great and prosperous again. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that the tariff was being used against the US for decades. He said that with extremely foolish, pathetic and crooked politicians, (tariffs) are having devastating effects on the future and even survival of our country. He said that the situation has completely changed, and the US has successfully competed against the tariff attack against them. Trump said in the post that a year ago, America was a dead country, now it is the hottest country in the world. Greetings to all!

Trump has imposed a 25 percent mutual tariff on Indian goods and has imposed a fine on purchase from Russia, which will be applicable from August 1. Announcing the decision, Trump said that I do not care what India does with Russia. I do not mind anything, they can fall down their dead economies and drop them down. He criticized India’s business practices and said, “We have done very little business with India.” His tariffs are very high, one of the most in the world.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday that the central government will take all steps to protect the national interests of the country. This was said a day after US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 25 percent tariff on India. He cited the decision by New Delhi to buy Russian oil and weapons. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Goyal further said that the central government is investigating the effects of Trump’s decision to put 25 percent tariffs. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that the Center has focused on Trump’s statement and is currently studying its effects. The government said that India and the United States have been in talks for the past few months to reach a fair, balanced and mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement.
