A US MP has made a big statement about Donald Trump amid the ongoing tense situation after the US imposed 50 percent tariffs on India. US Congress MP Michael Bomgarter said that US President Donald Trump respects India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi a lot. He stressed that even though there were some hurdles on the way, India and America will soon find a solution to get out of this situation and strengthen their relationships again.

US MP Bomgarter said, “We know that US President Donald Trump is a dealener and he respects India a lot. He traveled to India a few years ago, in which he enjoyed a lot. He also gives great importance to his relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. I hope that the matter between India and America will soon be resolved. However, some interruption may be completely successful, but the end will be successful in the middle.”

America is expecting more than India- Bomgarter

He said that the high tariff imposed on India should be understood in such a way that sometimes even more has to be expected from friends. Talking to NDTV, he said, “I believe that sometimes you have to ask for more than your friends and it should be seen as a sign of respect for India that America is expecting more than India.”

He said, “I can understand that it can be disappointed by looking at India’s perspective, but it should also be seen what America wants to achieve from it and what President Trump wants to get from it. I have talked to many leaders of India and I have told him that the foundation between India and America is very strong.”
