American senator Lindsay Graham has warned that US President Donald Trump will put rigorous tariffs on countries including India, China and Brazil that continue to buy Russian oil. Citing the ongoing war in Ukraine, Graham said that the Trump administration is considering imposing 100 percent tariffs on oil -related imports supporting Russian President Vladimir Putin’s military operation. Graham had earlier introduced a bill that proposed a 500 percent tariff on imports from countries continuing business with Russia.

Graham said in an interview to Fox News that Trump is going to impose tariffs on people who buy Russian oil, China, India and Brazil. He said that I would say the same to China, India and Brazil: If you continue to buy cheap Russian oil to continue this war, we will destroy you and ruin your economy. He claimed that these three countries are responsible for the export of about 80 percent of Russia in Russia, and also financed war against Ukraine. He further said that what you are doing is blood money. Putin will not stop until someone stops them.

In a direct message to the Russian President, Graham said that President Putin, the game has changed in your case. You have played at your own risk with President Trump. You have made a big mistake, and your economy will continue to crumble. He accused Putin of trying to revive the former Soviet Union by “attacking non-Jewel countries”. Referring to Ukraine’s decision to renounce nuclear weapons in exchange for Russia’s promise to respect its sovereignty in the 1990s, Graham said, Putin broke the promise.
