After a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russia President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, the world is again on the Ukraine battle. After returning to Moscow, Putin told the Russian officials that he spoke on the methods of ending the ongoing war in Ukraine with Donald Trump.

Such a thing was not done for a long time- Putin

Russian President Putin described the conversation with Trump as very useful for the top Moscow officials. Putin told Trump that he agrees to him that if he had been the President of America in 2022, there would not have been a Ukraine war. Putin said, “Long time we have not had a direct conversation at this stage. We got an opportunity to repeat our position peacefully and in detail.”

‘Talk on the main reasons for Ukraine war’

He said that the conversation with Trump was very clear and impressive, so that we got closer to the necessary decisions. Putin said, “This journey took place on time and very useful. We practically discussed all areas of our cooperation. However, most importantly, we became fair and talked about the main reasons of Ukraine war and its solution.”

Trump and Putin announced a major success on Friday (15 August 2025) after a three -hour talks at Aankka, Alaska. Trump said, “I hope that the agreement we have reached will help us to bring us closer and ensure the path of peace in Ukraine. I think our meeting was very useful. There were many issues on which we both agreed.”

In the press conference, Putin said, “We have to improve the situation to move towards a conflict. In these circumstances it sounds no matter how strange, our (Russia and Ukraine) roots are the same and whatever is happening is a tragedy and a terrible wound for us.”
