Russia-Ukraine peace talks stopped, Trump’s attempts failed, Putin said- ‘It will take time now’

On Friday (September 12, 2025) over the Russia-Ukraine war peace talks, Russia said that peace talks with Ukraine have been postponed. It is considered to be the failure of US President Donald Trump’s diplomatic effort to end the ongoing war between the two countries for more than 3 years.

After a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, President Trump said that Russia has agreed to talk, but Russia has continued its aggressive and expanded airstrikes on Ukrainian cities.

Straight summit will end the deadlock

According to AFP, Russia spokesman Dimitri Peskov said, ‘Our conversation is still in touch in different ways, but at the moment it would be right to say that the conversation is stagnated. You cannot expect that a big result came out immediately from the conversation.

The President of Russia has so far denied a meeting with Ukraine and believes that only a direct summit can break the deadlock. In Istanbul, in three rounds of talks, there was no significant result in addition to the exchange of prisoners on a large scale and Russia is still adamant about its demands.

US President warns Russia

These demands include complete acquisition of Eastern Donbas region from Ukraine. Kiev has turned down any kind of regional agreement or concession. Instead, it has demanded to deploy European peace soldiers, but Russia has completely rejected the proposal.

Last week, Russia launched the most aggressive attack in Ukraine, in which several civilians were killed and a government building caught fire in the middle Kiev. After these attacks, the US President warned of strict ban on Russia. However, no such restrictions have been imposed by the US.
